Urithi studio and traditional craft fairs
Urithi studio focus on traditional crafts and skills from various cultures in Uganda. Artisans come to share their knowledge and skill to teach others how to create items such as basketry, wood arts, pottery and share how the art has transformed their lives. These hands-on experiences promote cultural appreciation and business as well as provide participants with a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship and history behind these art forms.
Urithi wa Arts hosts traditional craft fairs that showcase artisans from various cultural backgrounds. Artisans are invited to display and sell their handmade crafts, allowing community members to learn about different artistic traditions while fostering a cohesion. The initiative also taps into the cultural diversities of refugees as they showcase their work. The events also include demonstrations, workshops, cultural films, and storytelling, promoting cultural heritage and artistry.
